Rita
Marshall - Irish Poet
This
website is a surprise for our much beloved Granni Rita.
Wife
- Mother - Grandmother - Poet - Herder of mice at crossroads
Rita's
light has been hidden under a pile of ironing for far too many years.
Only now are we able to realise the many creative sacrifices that were
made in the name of her family...
There's
snooker in the dining-room, guitars are in the lounge
Up aloft a hammer bangs, what chance have I to scrounge
Those
necessary moments to get that literary flow
That'll make me Poet Laureate - I think I'll have to go
recline
somewhere and try to get those daffodils in view
"Hey Ma I'm starving - what you got. The boys are coming too
"
Each
of these poems relates to an individual and/or an event.
Many
are very personal in nature
Thank
you
